Dot3D supports the ability to join two different scans together by referencing the known position of overlapping AprilTags from one scan to the next. If two scans share a common section containing at least three AprilTags, they can be fused after scanning. For best results, these 3 (or more) overlapping tags should be spread out as far as possible, on different surfaces/elevations.

This capability can help you to divide up big projects into several smaller ones. Large outdoor scenes, warehouse interiors, or anything that would be impractical to do all at once can be subdivided and completed using linking.
