Wall to Wall Measurements

Add reference distances between parallel walls to increase scan accuracy

So you want to tie your data down with control measurements, but don't necessarily have the time or manpower to painstakingly set up and measure sufficient quantities of targets across large, multi-room scans? So you want to rapidly scan large interior spaces, but need to make sure all the resulting walls/drawings are properly parallel/perpendicular across multiple rooms/hallways? So you need to scan a long stretch of wall but want to make sure there is no drift/tilt in the resulting data from start to finish? We know these challenges all too well and are very excited to be officially deploying a powerful new solution for these exact scenarios.

The new Wall-to-Wall Constraint feature is now available before optimization in Dot3D, allowing users to:

1. Reference known measurements between parallel walls (without targets).

2. Easily flag pairs of walls as being parallel/antiparallel to each other.

3. Easily flag two areas of the same wall to ensure a continuous flat surface.

This feature is designed primarily for interiors but can be applied to any scene with large surfaces you trust as being parallel/antiparallel to each other. If more unsure of the angles of walls in relation to each other, target measurements still remain the better option. Head on over to Targeting & Constraints after scanning to give this exciting new feature a try today!
