Linking Multiple Scans with AprilTags

Dot3D supports the ability to join two different scans together into one by referencing the known position of overlapping AprilTags in the scans. If two scans share a common section containing at least three AprilTags, they can be fused after scanning. This feature works better the more overlapping tags there are, but only requires three.

Linking can allow for the scanning of large areas over long periods of time, enabling you to divide up a big project into several smaller ones. Large outdoor scenes, warehouse interiors, or anything that would be impractical to do all at once can be subdivided and completed using linking.
